University Heights Academy scored five goals for the second straight game and will take a 12-6-1 record into next week’s district tournament following their 5-1 win at Owensboro Catholic Thursday.
Will Bryan notched a hat trick for the Blazers with Tanner Thomas and Connor Dill adding goals. Thomas and Elvin Wagner also had an assist.
Will Maxwell had 14 saves in goal for the Blazers. UHA’s defense, which had allowed 26 goals during a 1-3-1 stretch, has allowed just three goals in wins over OCath and Hopkins County Central. The Blazer win is their fourth straight over Owensboro Catholic, who fell to 8-8-1.
The Blazers open district tournament play Monday against Fort Campbell at the Stadium of Champions.
