After missing the cut in the Volunteers of America Classic north of Dallas last week, Caldwell County grad Emma Talley slipped out of the Top 100 on the LPGA Tour’s Official Money List.

That means the former national champion at the University of Alabama is headed to Q-Series later this month to try to remain on the LPGA Tour for 2020.

“Golf is hard,” Talley said in a social media post. “Such an emotional, stressful year on the golf course, but honestly I am so grateful for this year. It has been so hard, but as I am reflecting I know this will only make me stronger. I am super thankful for my friends, family, boyfriend, coaches, caddie, sponsors, and agent for all your support. Unfortunately, my game was off this entire year, so I have to go back to Q-Series in a couple weeks to get better status.”

Talley finished the season ranked No. 103 on the Official Money List with $117,236 in earnings in 2019.

According to the LPGA, players ranked No. 101-150 now head to Q-Series, a two-week, eight-round tournament to be held Oct. 23-26 on Pinehurst No. 6 and Oct. 30-Nov. 2 on Pinehurst No. 9, both in Pinehurst, N.C.

A minimum of the top 45 and ties at Q-Series receive LPGA membership for the 2020 season.
