Lady Rebels Drop Straight Set Match to Webster County

Todd County Central hopes to find their footing in the final week of the volleyball regular season ahead of next week’s district tournament. The Lady Rebels dropped a three-set decision at Webster County Monday to see their season record slip to 11-19.
Webster County took the match 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.

Over the weekend, the Lady Rebels went 1-4 at the Toyota of Hopkinsville West Kentucky Smackdown against competition they hope prepares them for the postseason.

The Lady Rebels dropped pool play matches to Apollo (25-11, 25-21); Christian County (17-25, 25-18, 15-13); and Crittenden County (25-20, 20-25, 15-8). Todd County beat Fort Campbell 25-15, 26-27, 15-5.

In the Copper Pool game, Hopkinsville was strong at the net in claiming a 25-14, 25-9 win over the Lady Rebels.

In the five matches at the smackdown, Lucy Chester had 40 kills, 14 aces, and a block. Brylee Shemwell added 12 kills, 57 assists and three aces.

Todd County also got 14 kills, 9 digs, and two aces from Presley Conquest, 45 digs and a kill from Meredith Drummond, and eight kills and four blocks from Brianna Shumake.

Todd County Central will close out their regular season Tuesday at Trigg County. They will play Franklin-Simpson in the 13th District Tournament next Tuesday.
