The Trigg County volleyball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday night in the 5th-District tournament at Crittenden County, falling 0-3 to Livingston Central.  With their third win of the season over the Lady Wildcats, the Lady Cardinals moved on to the championship match with Crittenden County, but the Lady Rockets would knock off Livingston 3-0 to claim the title.

Trigg County fell behind early in the first set, calling a timeout while trailing 4-14 after back-to-back aces by Livingston’s Lexie Jones.  The Lady Wildcats responded out of the break with four-straight aces by Hannah Fletcher to trim the lead to 6, but that would be as close as they would get in a 16-25 loss.

The Lady Wildcats again found themselves playing catch-up in the second, but after consecutive aces by Skye Williamson the set was tied at 10-10.  Jesse Siegmund served for three-straight points to earn Trigg its first lead of the night at 16-13, but Livingston closed on a 12-3 run to win 25-19 and take a commanding 2-0 lead.

The Lady Cardinals sprinted out to a 7-1 lead to start the third, forcing a Trigg County timeout.  However, the Lady Wildcats couldn’t stop Livingston’s momentum and once again called a timeout down 5-17.

Iyanna Grubbs and Megan Hicks scored on back-to-back kills to pull to 10-19, but the Lady Wildcats couldn’t claw all the way back in a 15-25 loss.
