Colonels’ Season Ends With 37-6 Loss at Bowling Green

Bowling Green scored on six of their first seven possessions to roll to a 37-6 win over Christian County Friday at El Donaldson Stadium in Bowling Green.

Ja’vyan Collins rushed for two touchdowns in the first half as the Purples turned a 14-0 first quarter advantage into a 27-0 halftime lead.

Connor Cooper completed 15-of-17 passes for 141 yards as three different Purple receivers scored a touchdown.

Christian County got on the board midway through the fourth quarter on a 3-yard run by L’Ray Coleman.

The Colonels had 304 yards passing in the game with Cam Coleman hauling in seven passes for 141 yards, and Tyquez Douglas catching seven balls for 107 yards.  Christian County had 77 yards rushing.

Christian County’s season ends with a record of 0-11.  It was their first winless season since 1971.  The Colonels have dropped three straight playoff games for the first time since 2001.

Bowling Green (8-3), who improved to 7-1 all-time against Christian County in the playoffs, will play South Warren next week.  The Spartans beat Greenwood 33-11 Friday.
