McLean Topples Trigg in Preseason Hoops Action

McLean County won all four quarters against Trigg County Saturday in the opening scrimmage of the basketball season for the Wildcats.  The cumulative score in the contest favored the Cougars 82-56.

McLean County won the opening quarter 11-9 and took the second (22-15) and third (23-16) quarters by seven-point margins.  The Cougars won the fourth quarter by a score of 26-16.

Trigg County shot 38-percent (19-of-50) from the field and hit just 6-of-23 from behind the 3-point arc.

Eighth grader Jhaden Vaughn led the Wildcats with 16 points and three rebounds.  He was the lone Wildcat in double figures.  Khyran Vaughn added eight points and six rebounds.  Jakobe Bridges also scored eight points, and Kendric Adams added seven points and five rebounds.  Hayden Cunningham also scored seven for the Wildcats.

McLean County, who returns four of their top six scorers from last year’s 11-15 team, got 26 points from Logan Patterson.  He scored 18 of those in the third quarter.  Isaac Springer added 19 points.

Trigg County will travel to Hickman County Tuesday for their final scrimmage.
