The Caldwell County wrestling team will open its season Thursday night with a tri-match in Murray against Trigg County and host Calloway County.
The first tournament action for the Tiger Matmen will be this Saturday at the Coyote Classic Wrestling Tournament at West Creek High School in Clarksville.
Caldwell returns a pair of state placers from last year in sophomores Riley Johnson and Dylan Walls. Walls was second in the regional last year before finishing eighth at state at 120 pounds. Johnson was third at the regional and eighth at state at 106.
