Caldwell’s Choate Signs to Play Softball at Asbury University (w/PHOTOS)

Caldwell County High School senior Madi Choate has made it official and signed to play softball at Asbury University.

Choate had a signing ceremony Wednesday at the high school with Asbury head coach Zack Parsons in attendance.

Choate, who will play third base in college, originally committed to Asbury in May.

Choate will join another Caldwell product, pitcher Katie Franklin, at Asbury.

Choate still has her senior season at Caldwell County coming up this spring before joining the softball program at Asbury.

Last season with the Lady Tigers, Choate hit .279 while hitting three home runs and driving in 17 runs as Caldwell went 17-13.

Two years ago, Choate batted .292 with four home runs and 29 runs batted as the Lady Tigers went 18-12.

The Eagles play in the River States Conference. Asbury is an NAIA institution located in Wilmore, Ky.

Madi is the daughter of David and Sara Choate. David is the head coach of the Caldwell County softball team.
