Brooklyn Clark scored all 7 of Dawson Springs’ first-quarter points, but Lyon County got 5 from Cathryn Brown and led 11-7 after the first.  Clark stayed hot in the second quarter, pouring in 10 points, but Rose Smith countered with 5 and the Lady Lyons led 28-23 at halftime.

Smith and Calista Collins combined for 8 third-quarter points for the Lady Lyons, but Abby Ward equaled them on her own to keep the Lady Panthers close at 40-33.

After going scoreless through three quarters, Dawson Springs senior Denisha Randolph caught fire over the final 8 minutes, draining 5 3-pointers.  The Lady Panthers defense did the rest, holding Lyon County to only 9 points and outscoring them by 13 to pull off the comeback win.

Clark’s game-high 17 all came in the first half, with Randolph and Ward picking up the slack over the final 16 minutes with 15 each.

Smith led the Lady Lyons with 14, Brown finished with 12, and Collins added 7.

Lyon County goes on the road to open 5th-District play against Livingston Central on Friday.  Dawson Springs will look to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 season when they travel to Fulton City on Saturday.
