Charity Stripe Not So Charitable in Lady Rebel Road Loss

12-7-weathers

When the opponent makes twice as many free throws as you attempt, it’s probably going to be an uphill battle to get a win.  Todd County Central found that out Friday as their fourth quarter comeback was thwarted at Ballard Memorial in a 60-58 loss.

Ballard Memorial attempted 49 free throws in the contest and hit 13-of-17 in the fourth quarter alone.  Todd was whistled for 15 more fouls than the homestanding Lady Bombers.

Ballard Memorial was 12-of-26 at the line in the first half as they built a 30-17 lead.  Mady Calvin scored 12 of her game-high 18 points in the first half.

Todd County used a 25-13 third quarter run to draw to within 43-42 heading into the fourth quarter. Lucy Chester scored 12 of her 17 points during the third quarter run.

Ballard was able to hit just enough free throws to keep the Lady Rebels at bay and pick up their first win of the season.  The Lady Bombers were 30-of-49 at the free throw line.  Todd County was 12-of-21.

Joining Chester in double figures were Jordan Weathers (15 points) and Eliza Simons (13 points.

Todd County Central (1-2) hosts Whitesville Trinity next Saturday.
