Falcon Wrestlers Finish 18th at Garner-Dyer Invitational

The Fort Campbell wrestlers had a tough go of it Saturday at the Garner-Dyer Invitational in Tullahoma, Tenn. but gained some good experience for the rest of the season.

Garrett Fumas won three matches on the day in the 106-pound division, with two of them coming by pin.  He lost in the consolation semifinals but got the Falcons nine points.

Jesus Avila won three matches in the 195-pound division.  He lost in the third round of the consolation semifinal and scored six points.

At 132, Thatcher Balfour won two matches to earn five points, and Jack Cogbill won two matches at 160 to earn seven points.

Jarrett Barker won a match in the 220-pound class to get four points.

Fort Campbell totaled 31 points to finish 18th out of the 25-team field.  The Falcons will wrestle Saturday in Springfield, Tenn.
