The Madisonville Maroons looked pretty impressive in their opening game of the 2019 Chad Gardner Law King of the Bluegrass. The Maroons completely dominated the middle quarters of the contest on the way to an 83-57 rout of Clay County.

Clay County was able to make a game of it for about one quarter. Madisonville held a 15-11 lead after the opening eight minutes. From there on, it was all Madisonville.

The two teams played virtually even in the final quarter, but by that time the game was well out of hand, as the Maroons advance on in winner’s bracket play at the KOB.

It was a huge night on a big stage for the Maroons’ Kenny White. White finished the game with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Deljuan Johnson added 15 points for Madisonville. K’suan Casey was the other Maroon in double figures with 10. Casey also had 8 rebounds.
