Northeast Turns Back Tilghman at Hoops Classic (w/PHOTOS)

Clarksville Northeast held Paducah Tilghman to just one field goal in the first quarter and went on to claim a 56-37 victory Friday afternoon in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.

Down 10-2 after one quarter and 24-13 at halftime, the Blue Tornado (7-3) tried to make a game of it in the third quarter.

Northeast (8-3) led 35-27 entering the final frame, but the Eagles outscored Tilghman 21-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 19-point triumph.

Tyrone Jackson and Joshua Alexander each scored 14 points to pace Northeast.

Michael Laster had 20 to lead Tilghman.

Jackson and Laster were named MVPs from their respective teams.
