Maroons Blow Past Central in Traditional Bank Holiday Classic

The Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons came out of the break for Christmas the way they entered the break, playing like one of the top teams in the state. Playing their first game in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic Friday, the Maroons cruised past Louisville Central 64-44.

The Maroons were rolling right from the opening tip, taking a 17-7 lead after the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets tried to make a game of it in the second quarter. Central was able to cut the lead to five points at 28-23 at the half.

Madisonville’s defense got things tightened up in the third quarter. The Maroons only allowed Central four points in the quarter as they pushed the lead back out to 40-27. Madisonville was then able to put Central away and run out to the final 20 point margin.

Kenny White led the way for Madisonville with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Dejuan Johnson added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Keshawn Stone finished with ten points. K’Saun Casey battled foul problems for much of the game, playing less than 18 minutes. Still the big man finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

Central was led by Josh Price with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Maroons upped their record to 9-1 with the win.
