Logan County Roars Past Rebels in 13th District Contest

After starting the season 2-0, the Todd County Central Rebels have had trouble getting their mojo going again. Logan County used a big first quarter and a bigger third quarter to roll past the Rebels 75-42 Friday night at Logan County High School. The loss was the 10th in a row for Todd Central.

Anthony Woodard got things rolling for the Cougars in the first quarter. Woodard scored 11 points, including knocking down three 3-pointers in the first eight minutes, as Logan County jumped out to a 23-9 lead.

The Todd Central defense was able to do a better job containing the Cougars in the 2nd quarter. Still, Logan County was able to extend the lead to 36-17 at the half.

The wheels then came off the wagon for the Rebels in the 3rd quarter. Dalton Thompson and Jose Nazario combined to score 16 points in the quarter, as Logan County rang up 28 points as a team. By the time the offensive blitz was over at the end of the quarter, the Logan County lead was up to 32 points at 64-32.

The Cougars were then able to put it on cruise control for the final quarter, pushing it on out to the final 33 point margin.

No Rebel reached double figures in the contest. Deonte Toliver and Dominique Morrow finished with nine points each. Preston Moore, KeKe Johnson, and Austin Rager all had 5 points for the Rebels.

Logan County was paced by Dalton Thompson with 20. Anthony Woodard added 15 points.

The Rebels fall to 2-10 with the loss. Logan County improves to 10-3. The Cougars have won 10 of their last 11 games.
