Late Free Throw Woes Costly for Hoptown in Loss

Hopkinsville missed some key free throws down the stretch and allowed Clarksville Northeast to escape Tiger Gym with a 56-50 win Tuesday.

Hoptown led for most of the game, taking a 39-36 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Lady Tigers hit just 14-of-28 free throws in the game and were 4-of-10 in the fourth quarter.  Northeast didn’t attempt a single free throw in the first half but finished 12-of-19 for the game.

Emoni McCray scored eight of her game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter for the Lady Eagles.

Hoptown had two players foul out in the contest.  Donisha Flowers and Jakayla Epps each scored 12 points for Hopkinsville.

Hopkinsville will head north Friday looking to snap their two-game skid at Hopkins County Central.
