After seeing a nine point 4th quarter lead completely evaporate, the Lyon County Lady Lyons needed someone to step up and light a spark to close out the game. They found that spark to be Brown, Cathryn Brown that is. After seeing Dawson Springs rally from 33-24 down in the final quarter to tie the game at 33-33, Brown scored six straight points on her own to help Lyon County close out the game on a 15-9 run and take a 48-42 win Thursday night in the second semifinal of the Girls 2nd Region All A Classic at Dawson Springs.

The Lady Panthers got out to the early lead in the contest. With Brooklyn Clark scoring five points, Dawson Springs got out to a 7-4 lead. Using their size advantage, the Lady Lyons finished the quarter on a 9-0 run to go up 13-7 after the first eight minutes.

Gracen Wynn knocked down a three to open the second quarter and finish out a 12-0 run, extending the Lyon County lead to 16-7. Brooklyn Clark would take over the rest of the quarter for Dawson Springs, scoring ten points, as the Lady Panthers battled back to within 22-19 at the half. Clark would finish the half with 15 points.

Neither team was able to get much done offensively in the 3rd quarter. Lyon County was able to do just enough to extend the lead to 29-23 at the end of the quarter.

A basket by Calista Collins and free throws from Rose Smith moved the lead out to 33-24 early in the 4th quarter. Dawson then made their big move to try and pull the game out. Getting big plays from Brooklyn Clark, Gracie Harper, and Abby Ward, the Lady Panthers ripped off nine straight to tie the game at 33-33.

Cathryn Brown then had her six point run to put Lyon back in front 39-33. Brown and Gracen Wynn would then knock down late free throws to secure the six point win.

Cathryn Brown finished with 18 points to lead the Lady Lyons. Rose Smith had a double-double on the night, ending up with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Gracen Wynn had 8 points, including 5 of 6 at the line in the final quarter.
