Former Caldwell County High School pitcher Ty Ramey is headed to Lindsey Wilson College.

Ramey announced on social media on Tuesday that he was very excited to announce his commitment to Lindsey Wilson College to continue his education and baseball career.

“Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and family that helped me achieve this goal,” Ramey said.

The 6-foot-7 right-hander is currently a sophomore at Frontier College in Fairfield, Ill. and will pitch this spring for the Bobcats.

Frontier will open the season Feb. 7-8 in the Flag City JUCO Classic in Millington, Tenn.

Ramey will have two years of eligibility remaining at Lindsey Wilson, which is an NAIA school in Columbia, Ky.

Ty’s parents, Chris and Layne Ramey, both played at Lindsey Wilson College as well, on the Blue Raider baseball and softball teams.

At Caldwell, Ramey was a part of back-to-back 2nd Region championship teams in 2016 and 2017.

Ramey will join former Lyon County High School standout Gabe Board at Lindsey Wilson. Ramey and Board were teammates two years ago on Lyon County Post 68’s state champion American Legion baseball team.
