Montgomery Central Too Much For Lady Falcons

After a bright start by the Fort Campbell girls’ basketball team on Monday night, the Lady Falcons found points elusive in a 42-18 loss to visiting Montgomery Central, TN.

Asia Cabili scored 6 straight to start the game and the Lady Falcons pitched a shutout over the first four minutes of the quarter, but Sarah Rankhorn put up 6 points and the Lady Indians finished on a 9-0 run to lead 11-6.

Montgomery Central’s Tatianna Terry came off the bench to score 8 points in the second quarter, helping the Lady Indians outscore the Lady Falcons 11-4 for a 21-10 halftime score.

Nothing would fall for Fort Campbell in the third quarter, allowing Montgomery Central to stretch its advantage by 10 points.  The Lady Falcons struggled at the free throw line to the tune of 10/23, but Marissa Cole scored all 4 of her points from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and they enjoyed their highest-scoring eight minutes.  Rankhorn responded with 4 of the Lady Indians’ 10 and they cruised to a 22-point win.
