Lyon County Holds Off Webster for Rare Win in Dixon

In a game that didn’t see much separation from start to finish, Lyon County held off Webster County 75-70 to pick up their first win in Dixon in a dozen years.

The game was back and forth throughout with Webster County leading 19-17 after one quarter.  Tyler Camplin scored 16 of Webster’s 18 second quarter points as the Trojans owned a 37-36 halftime lead.

Lyon outscored Webster 19-14 in the third quarter as Brady Shoulders hit two of his three 3-pointers to carry the Lyons into the lead.

Down the stretch, Travis Perry and Jackson Shoulders both scored eight points in the fourth quarter as the Lyons held off the Trojans to snap a six-game losing streak in Dixon.

Perry finished with 23 points, and Shoulders added 16 points. Nick Whalin continued his strong play of late with 13 points.

Camplin led Webster County (19-4) with 25 points.

Lyon County hit 14-of-21 free throws in the game, including 6-of-9 in the fourth quarter.  Webster was 13-of-16 at the line.

Lyon County (15-9) has now won two straight against Webster after losing 10 straight games to the Trojans.  Lyon will host St. Mary Saturday at 4pm.
