Madisonville Cruises Past Butler in School Boys Classic

The Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons used an explosive second quarter and a big day from big man Ksuan Casey to pick up their 23rd win of the season. The Maroons blew open a close game midway through the first half to cruise past Louisville Butler 91-71 in the Wes Strader School Boys Classic at Warren Central.

The Bears hung with the Maroons early in the game. Madisonville jumped out to an 11-5 lead halfway through the opening quarter. Butler would get as close as one point before Madisonville pushed the lead back out to six at the end of the quarter 22-16.

The game then effectively ended in the second eight minutes. The Maroons opened the quarter on an 8-2 spurt to push the lead out to 30-18. By the midway point of the second quarter, the lead had grown tot 20 points. When the two teams went to the locker room, Madisonville had pushed the lead out tol 50-27.

The Maroons continued to dominate play in the second half with the lead reaching 30 points halfway though the third quarter. The quarter ended with Madisonville ahead 74-46. The Maroons would then put it on cruise control and roll on out to the 20 point win.

Ksuan Casey led the Maroon attack with 29 points. Kenny White added 19. Deljuan Johnson had another solid day with 13 points. Marquise Parker also reached double figures with 11 points for the afternoon. Keshawn Stone just missed joining the double figures party with nine points.
