At the Region 1 wrestling meet Saturday at Trigg County High School, Hopkinsville’s Zlatko Skuljan took home 2nd place at 160lbs., securing a return trip to the state tourney. Skuljan also earned 2nd as a freshman at 145, before taking the top spot at 152 as a sophomore. However, his plans were derailed with a disqualification at the region meet last season, leaving him with a burning desire to make things right as a senior.
After collecting his runner-up medal on Saturday, Skuljan was pleased with his performance and detailed his road back to the state tournament.
