Fort Campbell senior Jesus Avila has advanced to the second day of the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Lexington.
Avila dropped his first match Friday in the 195-pound class to Chandler Miller of DeSales by a slight 1-0 score. In the consolation bracket, Avila garnered a 5-3 decision over Grant County’s Brayden Henson and a 5-2 decision over Martin County’s Brayden Jude.
Avila will continue wrestling Saturday as he looks to reach the awards podium.
