Hoptown’s Rye to Play College Soccer at Centre

Another member of the Hopkinsville boys soccer team has announced he will be continuing his career on the collegiate level. In a tweet Thursday afternoon, Mason Rye stated his intention to attend Centre College.

Rye finished the 2019 soccer season with six goals and seven assists, helping to lead the Tigers to a 16-8-1 record.

During his junior season, Rye saw action in all 28 games for Hopkinsville, as the Tigers advanced all the way to the state semifinals before losing to Highlands. The Tigers ended the season with a record of 19-7-2.

Rye played in all 25 of Hopkinsville’s matches his sophomore season. He finished with one goal and four assists, as the Tigers finished the year at 19-5-1.

Rye also saw action in 13 matches during his freshman season, finishing with two assists.

Centre College finished the 2019 season at 20-4-1, losing in the NCAA Division III national semifinals.

Rye joins former Tiger Ethan Noel on the Centre College roster.
