Lady Blazers Clip Dawson Springs in Season Finale

With a matchup with hosts Christian County in the 8th District tournament coming up on Monday, the UHA Lady Blazers closed their regular season in victorious fashion with a 56-48 win at Dawson Springs on Thursday night.  UHA’s seventh win of the season snaps a two-game skid, while the Lady Panthers drop their second-straight before their regular-season ends Friday night at Todd County Central.

Lily Hendricks scored 11 of UHA’s 13 first-quarter points, but Brooklyn Clark and Abby Ward combined for 10 to help the Lady Panthers to a 16-13 advantage after one.

UHA battled back to force a 27-27 tie at the half, with Clarissa Miller scoring 6 of her 8 points in the second.  Meghan Adams added 5 for the Lady Blazers, and they outscored Dawson Springs 14-11 in the quarter.

The teams combined for only 13 third-quarter points, and UHA led by 3 going to the fourth.  With the game on the line, Hendricks and Adams took over for the Lady Blazers.  They combined for 16 to outduel the Dawson Springs’ duo of Clark and Ward by 6, outscoring the Lady Panthers 21-16 over the final eight minutes for the win.
