A slow start out of the gate doomed Heritage Christian Academy in their 60-48 KCAA region loss to Oak Ridge Christian Friday.
The Warriors fell behind 13-5 early but maintained throughout the second and third quarters. HCA trailed 27-18 at halftime, and 38-31 after three quarters.
Oak Ridge only had three field goals in the fourth quarter but hit 16-of-27 free throws to stave off any HCA rally. The Warriors were 11-of-22 at the free throw line.
Elijah Britton scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter. The senior guard was also named to the All-Region Team.
Carlos Robles added 10 points and five steals, and Weston Powell pulled down 11 rebounds.
HCA now awaits to learn their draw for the KCAA State Tournament that begins next week.
