While it will be him that is a part of the track & field program at Union College next year, Christian County senior Percy Anderson gave significant credit to his mother for the opportunity he now has. Anderson officially signed his National Letter of Intent during a ceremony Friday afternoon in the media room at Christian County High School.

Anderson, who became visibly emotional speaking about his mother, who was sitting by his side, talked about her pushing him to get his grades up and thus afford himself the opportunity to continue both his athletic and educational carreer at the collegiate level.

Anderson finished 11th in the shot put (37-04) and the Class 3A region meet last year and was 12th in the discus throw (101-01). He looks to improve on both of those distances and qualify for the state meet this spring.

In the video below, see Anderson talk about his mother, and then speak to YSE about his decision to attend Union College.
