With the decade coming to an end on the high school hardwood this season, here is a look at the Trigg County boys’ basketball All-Decade Team comprised of players that played for the Wildcats from 2010-2020 and compiled by YourSportsEdge.com.
FIRST TEAM
Deonquez Nance (2010-13) – Nance finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,989 so his inclusion on the list is a no-brainer. He was a three-time All-Region selection and the 2013 region player of the year.
Detavion Day (2013-16) – Day scored 1,420 points in his three-year Wildcat career and stands at ninth on the all-time scoring list ahead of Devron Wadlington (1,408) and behind Joe Graham (1,441). He also averaged 11.2 rebounds in his career that saw him earned all-region honors three times.
Cole Gardner (2010-14) – Gardner finished his Wildcat career as the most prolific 3-point shooter in Trigg County history. His 252 treys were six more than Jonathan King (2005-09) and Jeremy Jones (2002-06). Gardner was a 2014 All-Region selection. He finished his career with 1,372 points, good for 13th on the all-time list. He ranks ahead of Prince Northington (1,291) and behind Scott Sivills (1,381).
Demaria Nance (2011-16) – Nance finished his Wildcat career with 1,229 points which puts him 17th on the all-time scoring list at Trigg County, ahead of David Radford (1,228) and behind Buddy Sivills (1,262). Nance was a 2016 All-Region selection.
Devron Triplet (2013-18) – Triplet was a two-time All-Region selection, earning the honors in the junior and senior seasons (2017-18). He finished his Wildcat career with 1,169 points which puts him 21st on the all-time scoring list.
SECOND FIVE
Kendric Adams (2017-20) – Kendric is the only active player on our list. He was an All-Region selection in 2019 after leading the Wildcats in scoring (12.9) and rebounding (7.4). Adams started as an eighth grader and averaged 9.2 points a game.
David Wease (2010-13) – Wease averaged 8.7 points as a junior along with five rebounds. He followed that up his senior season averaging nine points and leading the team in rebounding at seven per contest. His putback off a missed shot at the horn gave Trigg County a 66-64 win over Caldwell County in the first round of the region tournament.
Zeke Wright (2010) – Zeke was a 2010 All-Region selection. He finished his Wildcat career with 963 points, which ranks at 27th on Trigg’s all-time list.
Debo Mayes (2011-15) – Debo averaged nine points a game during his senior season but was known more as a defensive specialist on a Wildcat team that won a district title and advanced to the region semifinals.
Kyron Grubbs (2016-19) – Grubbs was the second-leading scorer in his senior season at 9.1 points a game. His 12 steals in a game in 2019 were one off the single-game school record. His 104 steals in 2018-19 were tied with Deonquez Nance for third-most in a single season in TCHS history.
