Madisonville senior Courtney Peyton has been named to the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association preseason All-Second Region Team.
Peyton, who has committed to continue her softball career a Brescia University, hit .400 last year for the Lady Maroons with five home runs and 18 RBIs. She led the team with 33 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
Other players named to the preseason coaches All-Region Team were: Calista Collins and Sydney Melton of Lyon County; Hope Jones, Serenity Shemwell, and Pickle Winkler of Christian County; Kaytlyn Kemp and Sophie Margelot of Henderson County; and Grace Scott of Webster County.
Other players receiving votes in the coaches’ preseason player poll were: Madi Choate of Caldwell County, Kaylyn Conger of Lyon County, Hadlee Carter and Graci Thomas of Webster County, and Kelsie Hill of Henderson County.
