Heritage Christian Academy Girls’ Basketball All-Decade Team (2010-20)

With the decade coming to an end on the high school hardwood this year, here is a look at the Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball All-Decade Team comprised of players that played for the Lady Warriors from 2010-2020.

FIRST FIVE

Chelsea Dortch (2015-19) – One of the top scorers in HCA history, topping the 1,000-point mark early in her senior season.  She was a three-time KCAA All-State Selection (2017-19), twice was named to the All-State Tournament Team (2017-18) and is the school’s career leader in 3-pointers made.  She played in the KCAA All-Star Game three times, scoring 12 points in the 2017 contest.

Rachel West (2015-18) – West was the leading scorer on the 2017-18 Lady Warrior squad that won the region title and advanced to the KCAA state championship game.  West earned KCAA All-State honors in 2017 and 2018 and was named to the 2018 All-State Tournament Team.  She represented HCA in the 2018 KCAA All-Star Game and scored 16 points.

Grace Waldron (2009-12) – Waldron was twice named to the KCAA All-State Team in 2011 and 2012.  She was also named to the KCAA All-State Tournament Team in 2010 and 2011.  She played in the 2010 KCAA All-Star Game and scored seven points.

Isabella Mauldin (2011-15) – Mauldin came on strong in her final two seasons on the hardwood for HCA.  She was an All-State selection in 2015 and named to the 2016 All-State Tournament Team after scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the semifinal game.

Sarah Folz (2011-15) – In the 2015 region title game, Foltz hit a free throw with no time on the clock to send the game to overtime where the Lady Warriors claimed the crown with a 34-32 win.  Folz was named the Region MVP and earned a Miss Basketball Nomination.  Folz shared the team MVP award in 2014.

SECOND FIVE

Nikita Platero (2010-15) – Platero was named to the 2014 KCAA All-State Team and earned All-State Tournament honors in 2015.  She played in a pair of KCAA All-Star Games in her career.

Lydia Hite (2012-14) – Hite was named to the 2014 KCAA All-State Team and shared the Team MVP award.  She also played in the 2014 KCAA All-Star Game.

Nicole DiMatties (2010-13) – DiMatties led the Lady Warriors in scoring at the 2013 KCAA State Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team.  She represented the Lady Warriors at the 2012 KCAA All-Star Game.

Amanda Shemwell (2010-12) – Shemwell was part of a rebuilding process for the Lady Warriors that saw her named to the KCAA All-State Tournament Team and All-Region Team in 2012.  That season, she also represented HCA at the KCAA All-Star Game.

Kinley Deason (2017-20) – Deason was the second-leading scorer for the Lady Warriors in 2018-19.  She hit a buzzer-beater at the KCAA State Tournament that gave HCA a first round win over North Hardin Christian.  She was named to the KCAA All-Tournament Team and played in the 2019 KCAA All-Star Game.  She missed most of the 2019-20 season with an injury but was still the team’s second-leading scorer.
