A pair of Heritage Christian Academy athletes are among those that have been selected to take part in the Governor’s Scholars Program this summer.

Elizabeth Pitts and Luke Bottoms were notified last week that they will be among the 1,000 students to attend the five-week program at one of three Kentucky colleges.

Pitts is a member of the HCA volleyball team and was named the MVP of the KCAA Region I Volleyball Tournament last fall.

Bottoms is a member of the HCA cross country and soccer teams, and received the soccer team’s Christian Character Award last fall.

The Governor’s Scholars Program was established in 1983 and provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience at one of several college campuses in the state. Students looking to be a part of the program must complete an application and compete with others from across the state.
