Another member of the Madisonville-North Hopkins boys basketball team will be continuing his career at the collegiate level. In a social media post Friday afternoon, Deljuan Johnson announced that he would be attending Wallace State College.

Wallace State, in Hanceville, Alabama, is one of the top programs in the Alabama Community College Conference, winning three league titles since 2010. The Lions advanced to the ACCC postseason under during the 2019-2020 season, finishing with a 16-15 record a year after winning the ACCC North Division championship.

Johnson was the 3rd leading scorer for the Maroons during his senior season. He averaged 11.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest as Madisonville won its second straight 2nd Region championship. The Maroons were set to play Warren Central in the opening game of the 2020 Boys Sweet 16, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
