Crittenden County Boys’ Basketball All-Decade Team (2010-20)

Crittenden County was in the thick of the boys’ Fifth District basketball race for the decade of the 2010s and brought home a title in 2018. Here is a look at the players that make up the Rocket All-Decade Team from 2010-20 as chosen by YourSportsEdge.com

FIRST FIVE

Casey Oliver (2010-11) – Oliver was named to the coaches’ All-Region team in 2011 after leading the Rockets in scoring. He finished his Crittenden County career with 1,090 career points.

Landon Young (2011-15) – Young was an All-Region selection in 2015. He played in 100 games in his Rocket career, averaging 7.2 points over the course of his career. He averaged 16.5 points and led the Rockets in 3-point shooting in 2014-15.

Preston Turley (2016-20) – Turley still has one more season left on the hardwood for the Rockets but has already surpassed 1,000 points for his career. Turley averaged 14.3 points and eight rebounds as a junior in 2019-20. He’s on pace to finish as a top-three all-time scorer in Crittenden County with Tim Hill (1,822) and Bennett Smith (1,596).

Aaron Owen (2010-14) – Owen was both a point guard and shooting guard for the Rockets in the early part of the decade. He averaged 12 points a game in both his junior and senior seasons and finished his Rocket career with 1,191 points.

Gabe Mott (2016-20) – Mott has brought his game a long way in two seasons, culminating with an All-Region nod in 2019-20. The quick guard doubled his scoring average from seven to 14 points a game from his sophomore to junior season. In 2019-20, Mott averaged 16 points a game and knocked down 43 three-pointers in joining Crittenden County’s 1,000-point club.

SECOND FIVE

Gavin Dickerson (2014-19) – Dickerson had an outside shot at reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career had an ACL injury not wiped out his junior season on the hardwood. He averaged over seven points as a freshman and upped that to 9.9 points and six rebounds as a sophomore before the injury. He finished his career with 600 points in 87 games.

Logan Belt (2014-18) – Belt earned All-Region honors in 2018 after scoring 9.6 points a game. He averaged 9.4 points a game as a junior and finished his career with 653 points (8.2 avg.).

Bobby Knox (2010-13) – Knox was able to play several different roles for the Rockets but his ability to clean the glass made his valuable to his team. He consistently brought home double-doubles in his senior season, including a 16-point, 12-rebound effort in the 2012 district semifinals. He averaged 10 points and nine rebounds his senior season.

Devin Clark (2010-13) – Clark was another rugged inside player that scored his share of double-doubles in a Rocket uniform. He only played three seasons but averaged eight points and 8.5 rebounds as a junior and eight points and eight rebounds as a senior.

Sawyer Towery (2015-19) – The Towery family’s legacy in Crittenden County basketball history is well-known. Sawyer added to that with 647 points in 92 career games. He led the Rockets in scoring as a junior at 11 points a game and finished his career with 114 made 3-pointers.
