Anthony Hickey Sr. is a head basketball coach once again after being named to lead the Warren Central girls’ program Wednesday.
Hickey has served as an assistant coach for the boys’ program at Warren Central for the past three seasons and takes over for Joe Hood, who stepped down after going 63-131 in seven seasons as head coach. Warren Central graduated three players from last season’s 11-20 team and have not advanced to the region tournament since 2013.
Hickey was 121-124 in nine seasons as Christian County head coach before resigning at the end of the 2015-16 season. The Lady Colonels won three district titles and finished as region runner-up twice during his tenure.
