Christian County School Board to Discuss Fall Athletics

Thursday evening is an important night as it pertains to the potential start of fall athletics in the Christian County Schools. The Christian County Board of Education is set to meet in a special called virtual session, beginning at 6pm.

According to the agenda released by the Christian County Public Schools, the meeting will feature discussion, and approval, of restarting, and then how to operate athletics as the 2020-2021 school year approaches.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association recently announced it was ending the dead period that was put in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and was waiving the traditional “dead period” for the summer of 2020.

A calendar, with some stringent guidelines, was put in place by the KHSAA to allow schools to begin preparations towards the potential re-start of high school athletics across the Commonwealth.
