Cathryn Brown trimmed six shots off her first-round score to finish tied for 22nd Thursday at the Kentucky Girls’ Junior PGA Championship in Richmond.
The Lyon County sophomore shot identical 44s on the Arlington Golf Club course in Wednesday’s weather-delayed first round.
On Thursday, she began her second round strong with six pars and three bogeys to make the turn at 3-over. She finished the round with a 10-over 82 to finish at 26-over. Bullitt East sophomore Macie Brown shot 1-over to win the two-day event by five shots over Marshall County seventh-grader Trinity Beth. Beth’s Marshall County teammate Savannah Howell shot 13-over and finished in seventh place.
