Caldwell County’s Adams and Lyon County’s Smith at the Top of Girls Soccer Fan Faves

Caldwell County and Lyon County took the winner and runner-up positions in the 2020 YourSportsEdge.Com/First Financial Bank Girls Soccer “Fan Faves.”

Caldwell County’s Kelsie Adams finished #1 in the voting this season. Adams anchored a Lady Tiger defensive unit that allowed the 5th-fewest goals (35) in the region in 2019, posting a record of 12-8-2 and finishing as 7th-District runner-up. She helped Caldwell to 6 shutouts, while also chipping in a couple of goals and assists. Adams capped her junior season with All-District and All-Region selections.

Lyon County’s Rose Smith finished as the runner-up in the voting. No player meant more to their team statistically than Lyon County’s Rose Smith. The sophomore banged in 41 of the Lady Lyons’ 58 total goals in 2019, providing over 70% of the team’s scoring. She fueled the Lady Lyons’ run to a second-straight 8th-District title, scoring twice in a win over Crittenden County, before bagging both goals in a 2-1 title-game victory over Trigg County. Smith earned All-District honors for the second time, while also scoring the lone goal in a season-ending region tourney loss to Hopkinsville.
