Three small schools working to build their fledgling golf programs got together Thursday afternoon at Mineral Mound State Park for a 9-hole match.

Numbers have been on the low side for Lyon County, Christian Fellowship, and Fort Campbell in recent years, but all three schools are building numbers to make their programs competitive in the coming years.

Andrew Dunning and Hayden Engler of Christian Fellowship tied for medalist honors with identical scores of 45.  Brady Fletcher shot a 54, and Dawson Hicks had a 55 as CFS had a team score of 199.  Playing as an individual, Bryce Cary shot a 51.

Mitchel Petros led Fort Campbell with a score of 50 over nine holes.  Eugene Joo added a 55 followed by Robert Dennis [59] and Jonah Weisbrich [65].  The Falcons finished second with a team score of 229.

Kade Blackburn and Braxton Tubbs led Lyon County with scores of 58, followed by Grant Wiggins [65] and Willie Coleman-Lewis [66]. Lyon County’s team score was 247.

Fort Campbell also had its first-year golfers at the course to play nine holes.  Elena Jimenez, Samantha Forristal, Alexsa Hoffman, and Abigail Thompson all shot a 62.  Matilda Thompson was right behind with a 64.
