Emma Talley moved from 45th place to 21st place over her final nine holes at the Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship presented by P&G.

You can do that when you birdie five of your last six holes in the tournament.

Starting on No. 10 in Sunday’s final round at the Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Ark., Talley shot a 1-under-par 34 on the back nine, having two bogeys but also recording birdies on Nos. 14, 17 and 18.

After making the turn, Talley parred the first three holes on the front side of the course before catching fire. She birdied the next four holes before a par on No. 8. Talley then birdied the par-4 9th hole to finish the day at 6-under 65.

That put her at 10-under 203 for the 54-hole tournament and in a tie for 21st, just missing a Top 20 finish.

Talley hit 11 of 13 fairways in the final round and hit 15 of 18 greens in regulation. She cut her number of putts to 27 after needing 31 in each of the first two rounds.

Talley did not record a double bogey or worse over 54 holes. She had 16 birdies and six bogeys.

It was the fourth straight week that Talley made the cut on the LPGA Tour. Players who don’t make the cut don’t earn any money that week.

Talley picked up another $21,887 in Arkansas. The late birdie run that moved her up the leaderboard was worth around $14,000.

Meanwhile, Austin Ernst picked up her second tour victory on Sunday, shooting a final round 63 to finish at 20-under par overall and two shots ahead of Anna Nordqvist.

The LPGA Tour takes a week off before the ANA Inspiration, which is set for Sept. 10-13 in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
