Lady Rebels Sweep Russellville in Straight Sets

Todd County Central overcame a slow start and rolled past Russellville 3-0 Tuesday in Elkton in what was the season opener for both squads.

The Lady Rebels took the first set and the third set by identical 25-16 scores.  They took the second set in convincing 25-9 fashion.

Lucy Chester led the Lady Rebels with 10 kills and seven digs. Lanie Bivins added eight kills in her first game as a Lady Rebel, and Addileigh Wofford had six kills and 20 assists.

Todd County had eight aces, with Autumn Sears accounting for five of them.  Presley Conquest, Chloe Wills, and Lynnlee Jones each had four kills. Meredith Drummond added 15 digs.

Todd County has won five straight matches with Russellville and six straight at home.  The district win also counts toward seeding for the district tournament.

The Lady Rebels will host Hopkins County Central Monday.
