Avery Flener scored two second-half goals to help lift Russellville to a 3-1 win over Todd County Central Tuesday in Elkton.

Dustin Brown bent in a corner kick four minutes into the second half to break a 1-1 tie with the Rebels.  Flener later added a penalty kick after he was tripped in the box in the 72nd minute for the final two-goal margin.

The contest was an even affair throughout most of the first half.  Flener scored the game’s first goal in the 38th minute from straight away.  Todd quickly answered when Grady Reding beat Russellville goalie Daylan Roberts with a high floater to the upper left corner just before halftime.

Todd County was outshot 15-13 in the contest. Roberts, who also plays golf for the Panthers and will be playing in the State All-A Classic Sunday, recorded five of his seven saves in the second half.

Todd County [0-2] will host Trigg County Thursday.
