In a match where its defense was under almost constant pressure, the Heritage Christian Warriors held Trinity Christian at bay for a half. However, the pressure eventually broke through for the Titans in the second half as Trinity Christian pulled away to a 5-0 win on the pitch Saturday afternoon in Hopkinsville.

Despite being outshot 14 to 5 in the first half, the Heritage defense was able to keep the door shut on the Titans as the game reached the halftime break scoreless. Carlos Robles and Walker Ashby did yeoman like work in the center of the field for the Warriors in the opening 40 minutes.

Ryan Trapnell, Vova West, and Isaac West had the Warriors moving forward, but could not open to the door to finding the net against the stingy Titans defense.

Trinity broke the ice early in the second half, and then the Titans’ offense was rolling.

Just two minutes into the second half, Trinity’s Cameron Johnson pushed the ball down the left side of the field and then beat the goalie to put Trinity up 1-0. The Titans added a goal from John Arthur Delong at the 50:00 mark to extend the lead to 2-0.

Johnson then scored goals at the 59:00, the 70:00, and the 75:00, to put the match away.

The Warriors are scheduled to return to action Friday at home against North Hardin Christian. HCA will then have Senior Day on Saturday when they host Immaculata.
