Lady Blazers Pick Up Second Win Over Fort Campbell

For the second time in three nights, the UHA Lady Blazers hosted the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Friday night in an 8th District volleyball matchup. And, for the second time in three nights, it was the Lady Blazers coming away with the win.

The Lady Blazers got the evening off to a solid start, as they rolled to a 25-17 win in the opening set to go up 1-0 in the match.

The Lady Falcons tried to battle back in the second set. However, UHA was able to pull out the 25-20 win and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

For a time in the third set, it looked as it Fort Campbell would avoid the sweep. The Lady Falcons jumped out to an eight point lead. However, it was a lead that would not hold, as the Lady Blazers roared back to take the set and close out the match with a 25-22.

Julia Thomas led UHA with 7 kills. Olivia Oakley contributed 5, while Beth Peebles, Suzie Comperry, and Jaila Batey added 3 kills each.
Beth Peebles led the Lady Blazers with 3 service aces. Alison Bullen, Olivia Oakley, and Evelyn Cotthoff served 2 aces each. Beth Peebles had 12 assists while Sarah Peebles added 8 of her own.

With the win, the Lady Blazers move to 3-4 on the season.

Fort Campbell falls to 2-3 with the loss.
