Christian County Takes Down Crittenden County in Four Sets

The Christian County Lady Colonels won for the 5th time in their last six matches Saturday as they picked up a solid 2nd Region win over Crittenden County. The Lady Colonels dropped the opening set and then came back to win three straight to take the match against the Lady Rockets.

Crittenden County opened the morning by taking control of the opening set, winning the set 25-18 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The 2nd set was a tight battle, with Christian County holding off a Crittenden County rally to pick up the 25-23 win, evening up the match at one set each.

The tight win in the 2nd set appeared to turn the momentum towards the Lady Colonels’ bench. Christian County would take the third set 25-18 to go up two sets to one in the match.

The Lady Colonels would then close out the match in the 4th set, controlling the set most of the way. Christian County took another 25-18 win to end the match three sets to one.

Macy Baker and Paris Buckner had big days at the net for the Lady Colonels. Baker finished the match with 16 kills, while Buckner added eight more.

Hailey Sparks set the table for the Christian County attack with 17 assists. She added four kills to her total for the match. Chantelle Haby finished with 11 assists.

Christian County now moves to 5-3 on the season. The Lady Colonels will get back to action October 1, when they go across town to take on the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.

Crittenden County drops to 4-6, and will return to the court Monday when they host Livingston Central.
