The Caldwell County Lady Tigers avenged one of their two losses this season by blanking Lyon County 4-0 Tuesday on Senior Night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

Lyon (5-4) had won five straight games beginning with a 4-1 triumph over Caldwell on Sept. 19 in Eddyville.

But the Lady Tigers were stingy in the rematch, limiting the offensive looks by Lyon’s top weapons Leah Schroeder and Rose Smith. The defense of Avery Ritchey and Kelsie Adams helped keep the Lady Lyons scoreless.

Caldwell (5-2) led just 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Kaylee McEnaney’s goal midway through the first half.

Hannah Young picked up the assist on the initial tally.

Young then got a goal of her own early in the second half to give the Lady Tigers a little breathing room at 2-0.

Abbey Hagan punched in a loose ball in front of the net to make it 3-0 midway through the half.

Madison Smith scored on a penalty kick late in the game to extend the margin to 4-0.

Caldwell will play at home again on Thursday when it hosts Calloway County.

Lyon has a home date as well on Thursday, hosting Trigg County in 5th District action.
