Cavanaugh’s PR Run Leads Wildcats to Fenton Dawson Team Title (w/VIDEO)

Austin Cavanaugh put together a personal best time to win the Fenton Dawson Invitational Saturday by 34 seconds and lead Trigg County to a team title in the event.

Cavanaugh covered the 3.1-mile course at West Cadiz Park in a time of 16:30.  Calloway County’s Daniel Puckett was second in 17:04.

Freshman Riley Thompson finished in eighth place in a time of 18:06, a personal best for him. Marshall Jenkins finished in 12th place, and River Oliver was 13th.

Timmy Cannon finished in 19th place in a time of 19:03, followed by Ryan Simpson in 34th place, Nathan Potts in 43rd, Joseph Crawford in 50th, and Christian Nott in 74th place.

Trigg County’s team score of 41 was good for first place in the Black Division that was run in the morning.  The Silver Division followed.

Dawson Springs was second with 67 points, breaking a tie with Calloway County based on the finish of the team’s sixth runner.  Marshall County was fourth with 69 points.
