Caldwell Volleyball Splits With Christian, Bowling Green

The Caldwell County Lady Tiger volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday at Christian County.

Caldwell defeated the host Lady Colonels 3-0 but then fell to Bowling Green 3-0.

Olivia Mitchell tallied 23 kills, 10 digs and two aces as the Lady Tigers topped Christin 25-9, 25-15, 25-18.

Abby Griggs added 12 kills, four digs and an ace in the contest while Mary Tays recorded six kills, six digs and three aces.

Kendyll Prowell had 45 set assists and two kills. Savannah Scott recorded three kills, a block and three digs.

Riley Thomas totaled nine digs and four aces. Kynady Thomas added one kill, one block and one set assist.

Adi Sullenger had three digs while Maggy Griggs had one dig.

It was Caldwell’s second win over Christian (8-8) this season.

Caldwell then took on one of the 4th Region’s top programs, but fell to Bowling Green 25-22, 25-13, 25-18.

The Lady Purples (11-5) have handed the Lady Tigers two of their losses this year.

Caldwell, now 11-5, was again led by Mitchell, who had 12 kills, a block and six digs.

Abby Griggs recorded eight kills and two blocks. Tays totaled three kills, seven digs and an ace.

Prowell had 20 set assists in that match while also getting three kills and eight digs.

Riley Thomas had 10 digs. Scott recorded a kill and a block.

Sullenger had five digs and an ace while Kynady Thomas had a kill.

Caldwell will play at home on Tuesday when it hosts Marshall County.
