UHA Lady Blazers Pick Up Second Straight Sweep

The UHA Lady Blazers may be finding their stride on the volleyball court just at the right time. The Lady Blazers picked up their second straight win Tuesday night, rolling past Crittenden County in straight sets.

UHA handled the Lady Rockets fairly easily in the first two sets. The Lady Blazers took the opening set 25-15 and then cruised through the second set 25-11.

The Lady Rockets put up a battle in the third set, before the Lady Blazers finally prevailed 25-22 to close out the match three sets to none.

Senior outside hitter Evelyn Morales posted 11 kills, 1 block assist, 1 ace, and 4 digs for the Lady Blazers. Freshman middle hitter, Julia Thomas, led in blocks with 3. She added 2 assists and 5 kills. Posting four kills at the net was 8th grade outside hitter Olivia Oakley, who also had 9 digs. Beth Peebles had 17 assists and 5 digs. Sarah Peebles added 6 assists, and had 1 kill, 1 block assist and 4 digs.

UHA had 10 aces led by freshman libero Evelyn Cotthoff who had 6.

The Lady Blazers improve to 5-10 with the win.

During the evening, the Lady Blazers recognized family and friends who are battling cancer, are in remission and those who ultimately lost their life to cancer as part of their Dig Pink night.
