Caldwell Claims 5-Set Thriller in Rematch at Ballard Memorial

Caldwell volleyball went five sets at Ballard Memorial for the second time this season, with the Lady Tigers avenging a loss to the Lady Bombers earlier with a 3-2 victory Thursday night.

Caldwell took the last seven points of the night to hand the Lady Bombers just their second loss on the season, 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-7.

The Lady Tigers lost a five-set thriller at Ballard Memorial in an All A Classic sectional matchup two weeks ago.

Olivia Mitchell powered Caldwell in the rematch, recording 30 kills and 14 digs.

Abby Griggs had 16 kills, four blocks and seven digs while Mary Tays recorded seven kills, two aces and 18 digs.

Kendyll Prowell had 55 set assists along with seven kills and five digs.

Riley Thomas tallied 40 digs in the match while Savannah Scott had two kills.

Adi Sullenger added four digs and four aces.

Caldwell is now 13-5. Ballard is 21-2.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to finish the regular season with a pair of home matches on Saturday, taking on Todd County Central at 9 a.m. and Warren East at 1 p.m. at the CAB gym in Princeton.

Todd County and Warren East will play each other between those games at 11 a.m.
