Caldwell County continued a pair of long streaks Thursday night.
The Lady Tigers extended their string of district championships to 14 with a 3-0 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins in the 7th District title match.
With a 25-11, 25-15, 25-17 victory, Caldwell extended its winning streak against the Lady Maroons to 33 straight matches.
Madisonville (14-5) led 3-1 in the first set, but Caldwell held the upper hand for much of the rest of the night.
The second set was tied 11-11 before the Lady Tigers won the next two points and 14 of the next 18 to finish the set.
Caldwell (16-5) then held off a late comeback bid by Madisonville in the final set to finish off the match.
As a district champion, Caldwell will host a first-round game in the 2nd Region volleyball tournament on Monday. The remainder of the tourney will be played at Christian County.
Caldwell’s four seniors — Olivia Mitchell, Abby Griggs, Kendyll Prowell and Riley Thomas — all made the all-district team, which was announced following the championship match.
Mitchell totaled 26 kills, six digs and an ace for the Lady Tigers while Griggs had 14 kills, a block, four aces and two digs.
Prowell tallied 44 set assists, four kills, eight digs and two aces. Thomas had 11 digs and one set assist.
Mary Tays added one kill, 19 digs and one ace. Savannah Scott had two kills and two digs while Adi Sullenger had eight digs.
Caldwell is now 3-0 this season against Madisonville.
The Lady Maroons got six kills and two digs from Kendrea White while Kaitlyn Orange recorded five kills and 10 digs.
Natalie Collier tallied four kills and four digs. Ellie Hughes had two kills and a block.
Alexis Fleihman had a team-high 13 digs while Amya King had eight assists and seven digs.
Arian Gregor added nine digs.
Both teams will play in the 2nd Region tournament next week, and could meet for a fourth time in the finals.
